Founded and run by alumni from IIT Delhi, AccioJob is a fast-growing educational technology startup that is revolutionising the way engineering students learn and upskill. AccioJob offers a meticulously designed and updated curriculum, as well as opportunities for students to be mentored by their alumni and corporate stalwarts through the app until they get placements. In 2022 alone, AccioJob successfully placed over 1,000 students at more than 300 tech partner companies.

Making learning an engaging and interactive experience for students

On any given day, AccioJob has 20 to 30 classes, with each class having around 500 students. The company also conducts an average of 8,000 one-on-one sessions online every month, where students are mentored by alumni or interviewed by tech partner firms.

As a company that was growing exponentially, AccioJob found it challenging to create an engaging and interactive learning experience for its students. Every activity, from scheduling classes to tracking attendance or getting recordings, required hours of work from the AccioJob team. The company had no accurate and quick way to measure the number of students attending each class, the duration of each class, the top-performing classes, and other important metrics. In the highly competitive edtech space, the inability to make data-driven decisions was impeding its growth.

Implementing a solution for reliable and secure education, mentoring, and placements

To address these challenges, the company wanted a proven reliable and secure platform for conducting online classes, one-on-one interviews, and mentoring sessions with students.  Zoom’s widespread adoption by other companies, reliability, and performance made it a frontrunner for AccioJob.

Integrating Zoom Webinars and Zoom Meetings into their product enabled AccioJob to communicate with its students and mentors for conducting classes, mentoring, and placement. AccioJob used Zoom’s Meeting SDK and Video SDK to embed the experience of attending classes and interviews for student shortlisting, career counselling and placement interviews directly into its website. The company also used Zoom Webinars for its job-related fairs and marketing events.

“By using Zoom’s Meeting and Video SDKs, we were able to provide our students with a consistent experience while using our platform — all their activities happen inside the portal and they don’t have to be redirected outside our platform,” said Harsh Sharma, co-founder of AccioJob. “Additionally, integrating the SDKs enabled us to track meetings and automate various actions, for example automatically providing students with access to recordings, tracking if an interviewer didn’t join the meeting, and making sure that only authorized users could join a meeting.”

The power of technology for personalising learning experiences

With Zoom, AccioJob is able to give students access to recordings right after classes, which helps them catch up on missed sessions or review important concepts. One-on-one sessions with mentors are also made easier through Zoom, which allows for more personalized learning experiences.

Zoom also enables AccioJob to record online classes and interviews, which can be reviewed later for quality assurance and improvement. This has helped Harsh and his team save upwards of 300 hours a month. Previously, the startup had to schedule classes and upload videos manually. Additionally, Zoom enables AccioJob to conduct many classes concurrently, supporting the ability to scale quickly without worrying about the underlying infrastructure.

“Zoom has helped us automate a lot of processes, including meeting scheduling, accessing recordings, and capturing data on attendance. Zoom also provides analytics, such as attendance and participation rates, which helps us track student engagement and measure the effectiveness of our programs,” Harsh said. “For an edtech startup like ours, the scale and implementation of our ideas and strategies are extremely important for the platform’s growth. Zoom is playing a critical role in helping us achieve these objectives.”

Zoom also helped AccioJob provide students with real-time visibility into their webinar attendance, including the number of clusters they attended, the topics they covered, and the sessions they missed. This helps students keep track of their progress and stay on top of their studies.

Additionally, the webinar chat management feature enables AccioJob to create chat channels that are only visible to the host and panellists, which allows for seamless communication during the session. Panellists can also reply to specific users or message them privately, ensuring that everyone’s questions are addressed.

“With webinars, we can accommodate a large number of participants. Unlike some other platforms that are limited to just 1,000 attendees, we can host up to 3,000 people in a single session. This is particularly important for us, as we conduct thousands of mock exams every month, with over 200 students and mentors participating in each session,” Harsh said. “The reliability of our platform, powered by Zoom, is essential to ensure that all participants can join and participate without any disruptions or technical glitches. We understand that any interruption, no matter how small, can impact our users’ learning experience. The stability and reliability of Zoom helps us deliver the best possible learning experience for our students.”

Overall, the integration of Zoom has proved to be a game-changer for AccioJob, enabling the startup to improve both the student experience and its business bottom line. By automating processes and supporting real-time visibility into student engagement, the company has been able to make data-driven decisions and scale its operations more effectively.

As education technology continues to grow and evolve, it’s clear that solutions like Zoom will play an increasingly important role in helping edtech companies like AccioJob scale their operations as they grow their business, achieve their goals, and transform the way students learn and upskill.
