Getting Started With End-User Managed Zoom for Home Devices

Overview

Zoom for Home allows Zoom users to join meetings from dedicated Zoom for Home devices, providing an integrated experience for audio and video conferencing and wireless screen sharing.

 

Users can setup their own Zoom for Home devices, or IT departments can centrally provision and manage Zoom for Home devices.

Licensing

Zoom for Home is available to all Zoom users with Zoom for Home certified or compatible devices. No special license is required to use Zoom for Home. Any Basic (free), Pro, Business, or Enterprise user can use Zoom for Home.

Preparing for your setup

Zoom for Home can be setup by an individual user, or your company may provide and manage Zoom for Home for you.

 

The following steps are recommended before you set up Zoom Rooms:

  • 1. Find or clear a space for your Zoom for Home setup

Setting up Zoom for Home

Zoom for Home is available to all Zoom users with Zoom for Home certified or compatible devices. No special license is required to use Zoom for Home. Any Basic (free), Pro, Business, or Enterprise user can use Zoom for Home.

Step 1

Set up your Zoom for Home device

  • Place display on desk
  • Connect power
  • Connect network

Turn on your Zoom for Home device

  • You will be presented with a screen like the following:

From a web browser:

  • Enter the 6-character code displayed on the screen of your Zoom for Home device.

  • If prompted, complete the CAPTCHA.

From a Zoom for Home device:

  • On your Zoom for Home device, you will be prompted to confirm your sign-in. Select “Yes, It’s Me”.

  • If your administrator has provisioned a room for you, you will be given the option to select it here, or to create your own Personal Zoom Room.

  • If no device has been setup for your, or you are choosing to setup your own Personal Zoom Room, you will be asked to name your Zoom for Home device.

Join the Meeting

  • Once you are signed in, your device will display any upcoming meetings on your calendar and you can simply click “start” to join the meeting:

Using the Zoom for Home

With Zoom for Home it’s easy to start or join meetings, place calls, whiteboard, and share content. You can set a pin code to easily lock your device when you are away from your desk, or set your device to auto-lock in case you forget.

First navigate to settings by selecting the gear icon in the lower right corner of the screen

Tap on “Screen Lock” to enable a lock code. You will be prompted to create a PIN and re-enter it to confirm.

You can set the device to automatically lock

  • by pressing “Auto Lock Screen After Inactivity” from the settings page and selecting a timeout. If you select “Never” you will have to manually lock the device from the home screen whenever you wish to lock it.

To manually lock your device, select the lock icon on the lower right hand corner of the home screen.

You will be required to enter the PIN you created in order to unlock your device
