Hybrid deployment, the Zoom way
Zoom’s cloud hybrid strategy has arrived, extending the Zoom cloud to enterprise infrastructure and helping to unify existing and future Zoom hybrid solutions for standardized deployment and operation.

Introducing Zoom Node: a platform designed for hybrid deployment.
Zoom Node is a central hub for hosting workflows — or modules — that support Zoom enterprise functionalities, such as hybrid meetings. It’s optimized to help address customer on-prem deployment requirements like bandwidth optimization. Zoom Node and the modules it supports are managed from the Zoom cloud, effectively extending Zoom cloud functionality to customer data centers.
Zoom Node Modules
Modules are service-specific software that run on Zoom Node. These service modules enable certain Zoom Service functionality, and are managed through the Zoom Web portal. Each Zoom Node is capable of supporting up to four service modules.

Zoom Phone Local Survivability
The Zoom Phone Local Survivability (ZPLS) module allows organizations to maintain certain Zoom Phone services within the organization even if internet connectivity is lost.
The Zoom Phone Local Survivability module capacity limits are as follows (dependent on hardware configuration):
- 2,000 users per module
- 5,000 users per module
Zoom Meetings Hybrid
Zoom Node Meetings Hybrid is a service module that enables you to keep meeting media within your premises for optimal bandwidth utilization – hybrid meeting solution. It cascades to the Zoom cloud to accommodate external guests and provide additional capacity as required. The Zoom Meetings Hybrid module also provides security demarcation for network edge proxy capability allowing you to improve network ingress and egress security.
Zoom Meetings Hybrid module supports up to 200 simultaneous HD or 400 simultaneous SD streams, potentially enabling support for thousands of users.

Zoom Meeting Connector Module
The Zoom Meeting Connector (MC) module is now supported on the Zoom Node platform, allowing customers to manage it on the centralized web portal, improving manageability, scalability, and security.
The Meeting Connector module provides a highly scalable enterprise-grade on-premise meeting solution allowing you to localize the processing of your meeting media. Zoom Meeting Connector module running on the Zoom Node platform gain the following capabilities:
- Turn-key hardened appliance architecture with bundled OS, managed by Zoom
- Unified management via the Zoom web portal and Zoom Node dashboard
- Managed automatic updates and patching
- Integrated cloud-based alerting and logging
- Full audit-logging of all administrative activities
- Centralized log management and cloud log relay
Zoom Recording Connector Module
The Zoom Recording Connector (RC) module provides on-prem recording capability for the Meeting Connector and is now supported on Zoom Node, allowing it to take advantage of seamless manageability, scalability and security of the Zoom Node platform.
With the Recording Connector module, meeting recordings will remain on premises. This module provides a scalable on-premise recording solution, all managed through the centralized Zoom web portal.
The Recording Connector modules running on the Zoom Node platform gain the following Zoom Web-based capabilities:
- Appliance-style deployment model bundled with OS, controlled and managed by Zoom
- Unified management via the Zoom web portal and Zoom Node dashboard
- Integrated cloud-based alerting and logging
- Full audit-logging of all administrative activities
- Centralized log management and cloud log relay
- Cloud-based automated bulk provisioning

Zoom Node features
-
Cloud-driven control
The unified, hybrid cloud platform includes a cloud registration and management framework designed for easy environment and service provisioning, onboarding, status monitoring and control, as well as granular logging.
-
Real-time insights
Leverage the Zoom cloud management and analytics interface for Zoom Node and all supported modules, with granular logging as well as an alerting and notification service enabling frictionless troubleshooting.
-
Security
When used in conjunction with a web proxy, Zoom Node has the ability to keep all workstation traffic local inside the network and does not require any direct internet access for the workstations. Zoom Node also reduces the number of data ingress and egress points by keeping media local.
-
Module visibility
With a registration service enabling the authorization and enrollment of components in customer data centers to the cloud and a debugging console displaying logs, stay on top of what’s happening across all your modules.
-
Customizable capacity
Zoom Node’s structure allows users to tailor their hybrid strategy according to their organization’s unique needs — adding on nodes and modules as required.
The current Zoom Node has capacity for up to four modules.
