Zooming Into the 2021 Sundance Film Festival

Zoom was used to connect Sundance Film Festival artists to audiences in live premiere screening Q&As as well as other gatherings.

During post-production, I was so grateful to have access to Zoom because it made it feel like me and my composer were actually in the same room. I was able to screen share and show him the scenes that we were going to be working on. And live, he could create music as we went through each scene together.

Each January, Park City, Utah, hosts the largest independent film festival in the United States, the Sundance Film Festival. This world-class event is an important opportunity for independent filmmakers around the world to showcase their work and connect with other creators. While COVID-19 prevented a traditional in-person festival in Utah, the proverbial show must go on!

Sundance hosted the 2021 event digitally through a platform organizers custom-designed and built. Within that platform, Zoom was used to connect artists to audiences in live premiere screening Q&A’s as well as other gatherings. We were honored to serve as the Official Unified Communications Platform Partner for the Festival and to support the production of this year’s event as an Official Sustaining Sponsor.
