The pandemic changed how the Red Cross Lower Austria was able to keep employees and volunteers connected, trained, and informed. Paramedic and rescue service training on-site, for instance, was no longer feasible, and the team had to quickly shift to a digital environment to continue its humanitarian activities.
Red Cross Lower Austria now uses the Zoom platform to train emergency paramedics, coordinate communications with executives and employees at its regional posts, and educate Red Cross volunteers. The group even saw an uptick in participation within its volunteer programs when holding information sessions over Zoom.
