Zoom helps multi-category unicorn Glovo connect employees across the globe
For a pioneering app that enables delivery and courier service in 1,500-plus cities, connectivity is everything.
Zoom matched a huge part of the needs we had at the company. We chose it because Zoom was able to provide video conferencing with several people and also host webinars. So we could broadcast around the world with all the facilities that we have and the people working from home. Another key factor was the fact that Zoom could be integrated with Glovo’s existing management system without any extra investment or cost.

Founded in 2015, Glovo is a pioneering multi-category app that gives everyone easy access to anything in their city. People can order anything that is available through Glovo’s partner shops and restaurants, and couriers will pick it up and deliver it to wherever people want within their city. They work with more than 150,000 partners from 25 markets in more than 1,500 cities worldwide. Spain is their largest market, followed by Italy, with Portugal, Romania, and Poland as strong markets as well. The organization also supports over 3,500 employees.
Modern work requires high-quality communications
Glovo has been at the forefront of consumers’ minds since its foundation. In order to provide its services, the company needed to maintain open and accessible communication for all its employees and be able to host webinars more easily. Since 2019, Glovo has organized webinars for all its employees worldwide, but as the organization grew, its legacy platform was not meeting their needs. In addition, the need to stay connected increased due to business needs and the tools they were using did not have the video conferencing quality. These tools also lacked the hardware compatibility needed to seamlessly connect with offices and employees around the world.
“The need came from the fact that we needed to do webinars with the employees in all the countries where we operate. They attend a stand-up on a regular basis and connect with the Glovo global organization. Also, we needed more communications tools to be able to communicate with each other, especially working from home,” explains Thomas Letemplier, Global Head of IT at Glovo.
Connecting employees around the world
Glovo knew Zoom was the best partner to take on this challenge because Zoom’s solutions were easy to use, integrated with all the existing hardware and infrastructure in the company, and supported high-quality audio and video — everything they were looking for.
“Zoom matched a huge part of the needs we had at the company. We chose it because Zoom was able to provide video conferencing with several people and also host webinars. So we could broadcast around the world with all the facilities that we have and the people working from home,” Letemplier said. “Another key factor was the fact that Zoom could be integrated with Glovo’s existing management system without any extra investment or cost.”
The company is currently using different Zoom solutions, such as webinars, conferences, video calls, and Zoom Rooms. Glovo has 64 Zoom Rooms and over 3,000 Zoom Meeting licenses, with several employees connecting to the webinars. In addition, they are testing Digital Signage and Workspace Reservation at the Barcelona offices. Many employees also have the Zoom mobile app installed on their smartphones, facilitating communication between them through a unique channel.
We also have more and more requests to do more webinars and to use more and more meetings. This means people like Zoom and the different tools that can be used to connect with colleagues and share information no matter where they are.

Flexibility and productivity to achieve its goals
“Zoom is enabling us to work across 25 different countries, different time zones, and stay connected, not only in the day-to-day business spaces but also for the company events, the webinars, and more,” explains Thomas Letemplier. “Now that the mobility restrictions are not in place anymore, we continue to use hybrid working models, which allows us to have all the flexibility we need, be more productive, and achieve our corporate goals.”
Another very valuable feature of Zoom is all the integrations with Glovo’s collaboration tools, such as Slack and Google’s G-suite.
“Glovo’s employees don’t have any significant troubles when using Zoom. It’s an easy-to-use and intuitive platform. Employees are very engaged with Zoom,” said Letemplier.
