Zoom Teams up with Global Organizations for User Safety

At Zoom, we work tirelessly to keep our users and platform safe while upholding commitments to freedom of expression, inclusion, privacy, and transparency. This work, however, is not done alone. Zoom’s work is enriched by organizations across the globe that are also dedicated to improving the internet for everyone. Below are just a few examples of the organizations we have collaborated with to create a safe experience for Zoom users.

Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism is an organization designed to prevent terrorists and violent extremists from exploiting digital platforms. Founded by Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, and YouTube in 2017, the Forum was established to foster technical collaboration among member companies, advance relevant research, and share knowledge with smaller platforms.

The Global Network Initiative works to protect and advance freedom of expression and privacy rights in the information and communication technologies industry by setting a global standard for responsible company decision making and serving as a multistakeholder voice in the face of government restrictions and demands.

The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) helps victims of child sexual abuse worldwide by identifying and removing online images and videos of their abuse. They search for child sexual abuse images and videos and offer a place for the public to report them anonymously.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization. NCMEC works with families, victims, private industry, law enforcement, and the public to assist with preventing child abductions, recovering missing children, and providing services to deter and combat child sexual exploitation.

Tech Against Terrorism is an initiative launched and supported by the United Nations Counter Terrorism Executive Directorate to work with the global tech industry to tackle terrorist use of the internet while respecting human rights.

WeProtect Global Alliance brings together governments, the private sector, civil society, and other international organizations to develop policies and solutions to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse online.
